Co-Creating Transformative Internationalisation: UTM co-hosted the 3rd ATU-Net ISW2022

Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) in collaboration with its member institutions, organised the ATU-Net signature programme, the ATU-Net International Staff Week (ATU-Net ISW2022), from 14th to 17th March 2022.

With the theme ‘Co-creating Transformative Internationalisation in Post-pandemic Asian Higher Education’, five member institutions, namely Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia; Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia; Cebu Technological University (CTU), Philippines; Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Thailand & King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand worked hand in hand in planning, coordinating and realizing this 4-day programme.

ATU-Net ISW2022 aimed to fulfill the objectives which were to enhance skills and competencies in managing international office, and to share best practices related to international relations and activities, especially in moving forward during this post-pandemic era.

Among the highlighted agenda were the keynote addresses, which featured eight prominent speakers, daily mobility workshop sessions, as well as presentations from member institutions.

In response to the current demands of internationalization in the post-pandemic era, one of the Keynote Speakers, Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) of UTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ismid Md Said shared his approaches and strategies in sustaining and transforming internationalization, which include joining forces with other strategic international alliances, Virtual International Engagement (VIE) and Online Global Classrooms (OGCs).

ATU-Net ISW2022 does not only serve as knowledge-sharing sessions but it also acts as a capacity building programme with hope to foster stronger ties and cooperation among members of the network.

This programme has garnered more than 120 delegates across Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, India, Philippines and Vietnam.
