School of Human Resource Development and Psychology (SHARPS), Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) had successfully organized a two-day programme of Postgraduate Research Colloquium 2022 on 4th January and 8th February 2022.

This event started with an opening speech by the Chair of School of Human Resource Development and Psychology (SHARPS), Prof. Dr. Siti Aisyah binti Abdul Rahman.

Knowledge sharing sessions were then arranged in the morning followed by parallel sessions in the afternoon for the first and second days of the event.

This two-day program managed to cover several research-related topics such as Overview of Systematic Literature Review. The guest speaker for this topic was from Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship, Universiti Teknikal Melaka (UTeM), Dr. Imran Qureshi.

Meanwhile, another two distinguished guest speakers were invited to share their expertise on “Advanced Research Design in Quantitative Research” and “ATLAS.ti for Qualitative Research” respectively on the second day of the event. They were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Awang Idris from Universiti Malaya (UM) and Dr. Ani Munirah binti Mohamad from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

These knowledge-sharing sessions served as platforms for SHARPS postgraduate students to discuss related research issues with the guest speakers and gain valuable insight from them.

Furthermore, the committee hoped by attending these sessions, all participants were motivated to polish and complete their research on time. It is believed that these sessions had added values to the future SHARPS postgraduate students after completing their study and research at UTM.

SHARPS Facebook Live and Webex were used as the platforms for these colloquium sessions.

There were 23 participants who presented their research progress on the first day, meanwhile, 13 participants managed to take part in the parallel sessions on the second day. Merit points were given to all registered participants too.

Based on the participants’ feedback during the sessions, these colloquium had boosted their motivation to continue progressively.

Last but not least, appreciation to all the panel of examiners, guest speakers and organizing committees of the colloquium.
