PLOS ONE (plosone.org) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal published by the Public Library of Science (PLOS), a leading not-for-profit publisher of Open Access journals. PLOS ONE is characterized by rigorous professional peer-review, consideration of a wide range of articles from science and medicine, and Open Access: making science freely accessible to the public. Today, PLOS ONE is one of the largest journals in the world.
Dr. Afnizanfaizal bin Abdullah from Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, has acted as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE since May 2021 (see the Editorial Board). In this capacity, Dr. Afnizanfaizal has contributed his time, expertise, and energy with no financial remuneration and has provided a great service to the journal and to science in general.
PLOS ONE is truly international, containing an editorial board from a wide variety of countries and being read by people worldwide. One of the core philosophies of the journal that Dr. Abdullah fully supports is that scholarship should be free for anyone in the world to read, regardless of their income, status, or geographical location. As such, the work of Dr. Abdullah has directly contributed to the dissemination and comprehension of cutting-edge science worldwide.
