The Director of Applied Computing from School of Computing, Faculty of Engineering UTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roliana binti Ibrahim was featured on Bernama TV on Friday, 14th February 2020.

She was featured together with Ir. Dr. Karl Ng Kah Hou, Director of Data Ecosystem Development, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to be interviewed in The Digital Nation slot hosted by Ms. Jessy Chahal on topic “The Importance Of Data In Digital Economy: Do We Have The Right Talent?”.

Among questions that were asked during the interview including:

  1. How UTM adapting their programme to meet the new digital economy talent?
  2. Tell us about UTM’s Data Engineering programme, which is the first of its kind in the country. Why did UTM start it, what’s the outcome so far and the success stories from this programme?
  3. There has been a lot of news about graduate unemployment lately and how UTM’s Computer Science programme achieved such high graduate employability which is 89%?
