Two language teachers from Language Academy, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Pn Shazwani Abd Rahman and Pn Awis Rumaisya Azizan, were invited by SK Taman Indahpura 1 as trainers to conduct a half-day English workshop on 6 March 2019. This programme was part of a two-day course organised by Dr. Norasykin Mohd Zaid from School of Education (SoE). Three other facilitators from SoE assisted the workshop. They were Dr Norah Md Noor, Dr Norhasniza Ibrahim and Dr Norasykin Mohd Zaid.

Fifty-seven primary six students who will be sitting for Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) in September 2019 participated in active and collaborative learning activities prepared by the trainers. They spent a fruitful time learning English through engagement in games- and songs-based activities. The workshop was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on Paper 1 (Comprehension) and the second session focused on Paper 2 (Writing). During the first session, students were involved in a game called Language Marathon. There were four checkpoints for students to go through. At each checkpoint, students were required to solve a task. The tasks were Comprehend It!, String Sentence, Action!, and Golden Grammar. In session 2, students were actively involved in collaborative writing tasks where at the end they enthusiastically exhibited and presented their work to trainers, facilitators and their friends.

Throughout the workshop, students were exposed to valuable tips and answering techniques for English paper for the upcoming examination.
