Johor Bahru, 16 November – Students from the UTM’s Tuanku Chancellor English Language Club organised an English medium sharing session with the HRH Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah on 16 November 2016 to encourage the UTM students to take on the challenge of using English as a second language for the global communication to enable them to expand their horizons and possibilities.
The Tuanku Chancellor English Language Club Sharing Session was conducted at the Lounge area, Dewan Sultan Ismail (DSI) in UTM’s Johor Bahru from 2.30 pm until 5 pm, and successfully attracted a large crowd from both domestic and international students from all disciplines. The students were all keen to share their experiences and opinions with HRH Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah.
For this sharing event, the main focus of the programme was to spur the interests of the students to adapt English language as their possible tools of communication in order to overcome the language barrier that has impeded students true potential. Six students from various academic disciplines volunteered themselves to conduct a sharing activity that ranged from sharing their experiences, to expressing their opinions on the global crises, and finally a recitation of poetry.
The organising committee president, Muhammad Wazif Bin Mohd Sallehhudin stated that the programme was to encourage students to take on the challenge of using English as an important medium of communication and to utilize it to the fullest for the benefit and opportunity of possibilities in the future. Further future sharing sessions have also been planned.
