UTM Vice-Chancellor and the Minister of Higher Education on a Work Visit to Japan

 

The UTM Vice-Chancellor is currently accompanying YB Dato’ Seri Idris bin Jusoh, the Minister of Higher Education, on a work visit to Japan, commencing December 13 until December 18, 2015.

The 5-day visit aims to strengthen relations between the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Youth, Science and Technology of Japan. The visit also intends to seek and explore new engagement opportunities, particularly in the field of research and higher education.

During the course of the visit, YB Dato’ Seri and the Malaysia delegation will also make a courtesy call to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Youth, Science and Technology of Japan, as well as visit several Japanese universities and research institutions such as Meiji University, Tsukuba University and the Algae Biomass Energy System Development Research Centre.

Additionally, a special meeting will be held with the Japanese University Consortium to further consolidate Malaysia government’s commitment to strengthen research collaboration between Malaysia and Japan, particularly through MJIIT.
