UTM Johor Bahru, 19 June – The haze in Johor Bahru is getting worse. The Air Pollutant Index (API) in Johor Bahru area has reached 124 at 11am today which explains that the air condition is unhealthy. The air in UTM are saturated with smelly toxic haze.

To all students, staff and visitors of UTM, kindly avoid outdoors activity like jogging, cycling or horse riding.

UTM Director of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE), Prof. Dr. Maketab Mohamed adviced to all especially children and the elderly to avoid venturing outdoors. “People with illness such as asthma or emphysema are adviced to just stay indoors. If you have to be outdoors, you may have to consider using face mask.”
