KUALA LUMPUR: Centre of Lipid Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia had received a Gold Medal in Malaysia Green Tech Awards 2012 for its outstanding role in the establishment of research and development which are vital in the transformation of the future in green technology.
The Director of CLEAR, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Azizi Che Yunus had received the award from the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Haji Mohd Yassin in Greentech University Category alongside with the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), UKM and silver medal for Asia Pacific UCTI Sdn Bhd and Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The Malaysia Green Tech Award 2012 which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 12 October 2012 was organized by The Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia and co-organized by the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation.
This prestigious event is set to recognize Malaysian Green Technology Leaders. The Green Tech Awards saw intense competition among 150 nominees who participated across several categories, namely GreenTech University Award, GreenTech Manufacturer Award, GreenTech Bank Award, GreenTech Developer Award and GreenTech Journalist Award.
The objectives of the awards are to adopt the best practices from outstanding green practitioners and businesses in Malaysia and create a new cluster of green human capital leadership.
It also identifies innovative future green technology ideas that could transform the landscape of green business and industry.
