Johor Bahru, 28th December: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has sealed an agreement with Yamagata University, Japan for academic and research programmes.
The scope of collaboration between the two universities will include activities of promoting academic collaboration, students exchange and cultural ties besides working together to enhance cooperation in Education, Research and Development in the areas of Robotics and Humanoids, Devices and Materials, Bio-Engineering and related Technologies with other expertise offered at both institutions.
Among the scope of collaboration embodied in the Memorandum of Understanding includes the promotion of exchange of faculty members and researchers from both institutions.
Both sides have also agreed to be involved in promotion activities of collaborative research and publication of research results by faculty members and researchers.
Besides, the facilitation of mutual exchange of administrative and secretarial personnel attached to the academic departments, research laboratories, library and assorted administrative bodies of each institution has also been included in the agreement.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Marzuki Khaled as the UTM representative and Mr. Akio Yuki, President of Yamagata University at the main meeting room, Johor Bahru campus.
With this kind of agreement tied, it is hoped that both universities will provide a good platform for UTM to be a prominent university in the region.
