Language Academy Welcomes Trainee Teachers from Chuo University, Japan

JOHOR BAHRU, 6 September 2015 – Language Academy welcomed two Japanese students under the Student Exchange Nippon Discovery (SEND) program.

The SEND program is an exchange program between Japanese and ASEAN universities providing Japanese students the opportunity to learn different languages while broadening their cross-cultural experience. The program also supports students in the host country in learning Japanese language or experiencing Japanese cultures.
The two teacher trainees, Ms Kimura and Ms Tode, will be at Language Academy from the 6th to the 25th September 2015. They are accompanied by Professor Shigenori Wakabayshi from Chuo University. Professor Wakabayshi will be meeting with the Dean of Language Academy, Assoc. Professor Dr Abdul Halim Abdul Raof, as part of his visit to UTM.

Language Academy has signed a 5 year MOU with Chuo University Japanese Language Teacher Training Program.

Ms. Kimura and Ms Tode will be teaching Japanese at the SMK Sultan Ismail Johor Bahru as part of the SEND program. They will be teaching Japanese at SMK Sultan Ismail from the 6th till the 11th of September.

The SEND program aims to provide an academic and social training ground for participating students and serve as a cultural bridge between Japanese and ASEAN countries in the future.
