ISS Appreciation Dinner: A Night to Remember

SENAI, Feb 14 – UTM International hosted the annual International Student Society (ISS) 2023/2024 Session Appreciation Dinner at the elegant Le Grandeur Palm Resort in Senai. The event was attended by 50 former ISS committee members, creating a memorable evening filled with gratitude and celebration. The ISS Appreciation Dinner was not only a recognition of accomplishments but also a platform to express appreciation and foster a sense of unity among international students.

The event was further highlighted by the presence of distinguished guests, including Professor Ts. Dr. Ali Selamat, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni; Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan, Director of UTM International; Hanifah Ahmad, Senior Deputy Registrar of the Department of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) (JTNCHEPA); Mohd Faizal Abdul Latib, Director of the UTM Security Division; and several executive staff members from the UTM International office. Their attendance underscored the significance of the occasion and the role of the ISS in nurturing a vibrant international student community.

Heartfelt speeches delivered by the Director of UTM International and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) reflected on the past year’s achievements and the society’s growth. These addresses highlighted the hard work and dedication of the ISS committee members, who were honored with certificates and tokens of appreciation.

The evening’s program included inspiring speeches, lively performances, and the presentation of awards and certificates to recognize the efforts of the ISS committee members throughout the session. A standout moment was the Best of the Best Award, which honored outstanding contributions from ISS members who went above and beyond in their roles. This award acknowledged their exceptional dedication and commitment to the society. 

As the evening progressed, attendees reflected on the past year’s achievements and celebrated the strong bonds formed within the international student community. The ISS Appreciation Dinner not only celebrated accomplishments but also provided an opportunity to express gratitude and strengthen unity among international students.

The evening ended on a high note with a catwalk and the crowning of the King and Queen, adding an element of glamour and excitement to the finale.
