Kolej Datin Seri Endon (KDSE) was abuzz with excitement as the Malaysian International Cultural Carnival (MICC) 2023 took center stage on May 19th and 20th. This vibrant event, organized by the Jawatankuasa Mahasiswa Kolej Datin Seri Endon (JKM KDSE), garnered immense support from international students, reflecting the spirit of diversity and cultural uniqueness among students and the university community.
MICC 2023 promotes cultural exchanges through several activities such as Pertandingan Busana Traditional and Reruai Pameran Negara by Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Persatuan Mahasiswa Sarawak (MASSA), Kelab Toastmaster UTM, dan Unit Kebudayaan UTM. Furthermore, a competition to promote Bahasa Melayu name Pertandingan Pidato Bahasa Melayu Kolej Datin Seri Endon is also being held successfully. The event was embellished with mesmerizing dance and singing performances from different nations, providing a captivating spectacle for all. Not only did MICC 2023 showcase the cultural heritage, but it also provided opportunities for students and vendors to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. ‘Carboot sales’ activities and ‘food truck’ invitations within the premises allowed participants to generate income and contribute to the festive atmosphere around KDSE.
The essence of this program lies in promoting cultural exchange among students. By immersing themselves in an environment brimming with diversity, students had the chance to expand their horizons and deepen their understanding of different customs, traditions, values, and perspectives.
