Kem Pembentukan JKM 21/22 (KETU’21) is a camp event organized by the Student Residential College Committee (JKM) to find the new JKM committee for the 21/22 session. Also, a platform to educate the new committee on how to organize a program and manage the JKM organization properly. The camp was conducted virtually using Webex as the main platform from 6th until 12th September 2021. There were 35 students who joined the camp but only 30 students will be on the next JKM Kolej Tun Dr Ismail (KTDI) committee based on their performances and abilities shown in each task given during the camp.

Opening Ceremony of the Event

On 6th September 2021, an ice-breaking session in groups was held to let each participant get to know each other closer. Two facilitators were assigned to assist each group during LDK games session. The interesting LDK games were called Two Truths and A Lie and Introducing Each Other.

Event Management Sharing Slot

Afterwards, a sharing slot on Event Management was held by Mohd Idham bin Anur, an active JKM committee 20/21. The main focus of this slot was to assist and provide the information needed to organize a program for a better program proposal as their first task.

On 7th September 2021, two recorded videos on how to write an official letter and do a financial report were shared with the participants. The official letter learning was prepared by Siti Hamidah binti Mohd Azwan Tan, a secretary of JKM committee 20/21 while the financial management learning was prepared by Rakesh A/L Kannapathy, a treasurer of JKM committee 20/21.

Besides, there was also a mini-debate held on 8th September 2021 that involved three representatives from each group to compete in 3 rounds of debate. The Principal and Council of Fellows KTDI were the judges of the debate. It was to examine their abilities in conveying their thought wisely as the future JKM committee 21/22 need to bring the voice of college residents to the upper administration.

Proposal presentation from groups

Then, from 10th until 11th September 2021, another three representatives from each group need to present their group’s proposal to be selected as a top bidder program for the next session. The presentation must come out with two plans, physical and virtual flow of the program to suit the current situations.

A closing ceremony was conducted by the participants. It was to give them exposure on how to handle a live event and deal with the invitation of VIPs. It had started with a speech from Mohamad Muizzuddin bin Mohamad Marzuki, the President of KTDI 20/21 and a talk by Mr. Syafik Rahmat, Pegawai Tadbir (NA41) from Jabatan Timbalan Naib Counselor (HEP), UTM Johor Bahru. Lastly, the Principal of KTDI had given his speech and announced Muhammad Nur Izzuddin bin Rijaludin as the new President of KTDI 21/22.
