Courtesy Visit by Muar District Officer to UTM Pagoh

On the 6th of May 2021, Muar District Officer had a courtesy visit to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Pagoh accompanied by Yang Di Pertua Majlis Perbandaran Muar, Muar/Tangkak Department of Environment Officer, Muar/Tangkak Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) Branch Manager as well as Muar Municipal Council Health and Licensing Officer.

A few agreements of policies and commitments from UTM Pagoh as a Centre of Studies and Research which covers the field of Biotechnology and various Waste to Wealth are one of the initiatives among the areas of UTM that can support “moving forwards” towards Muar Daerah Maju 2030.

UTM has a prominent potential to develop the niche area of the Muar District Local Plan (Replacement) 2020 – 2030 which is the ‘Low Carbon Society’. This is a program entitled “Quick Win” which could unveil among the 12 initiatives towards Muar Daerah Maju 2030.

The production of organic fertilizers and additional food source generation for ruminants by using the domestic waste of residential premises and landscape waste is among the UTM findings that are feasible and in line with the theme of Carboniferous Communities.
