Dr. Julie Nguyen Thuy Van, a post-doctoral fellow from School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), had recently presented a research paper titled “An Instructional Strategy Framework of Learner’s Performance in Online Learning Environment” at the 4th International Symposium of Education and Values (ISOEVA).

The paper was in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Hamdan Said, Dr. Diyana Zulaikha Abdul Ghani, Dr. Mohd Rustam Mohd Rameli, and Dr. Najua Syuhada Ahmad Alhassora from School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences as well as Prof. Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin and Dr. Ibrahim Gambo from Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM.

It has focused on the factors influencing online learning as digital education that will further be continued to sustain the quality of education in the era of post-COVID-19. A structural strategy model was proposed to enhance online learner’s performance, and a survey has been conducted among four faculties in UTM. The findings have shown that the proposed model is beneficial for stakeholders who are involved in online learning for higher education and can be applied in self-learning, teaching as well as academic advising to enhance students’ learning achievement and course satisfaction.

The 4th ISOEVA was hosted by Karabük University, Turkey, a UTM close partner from 24th until 26th December 2020 through a virtual Zoom platform. The symposium was held with the aim to yield significant outcomes from researchers of all areas of social sciences across the region, by providing them the opportunity to present their work including interdisciplinary activities. Research papers submitted for the 4th ISOEVA will be published in the book of abstracts and full papers will be reviewed before being published in electronic forms.

Heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Julie and her research team on this achievement!
