Two UTM Students Go Global for An International Research Visit at Osaka University, Toyonaka Campus

Two students from Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Ms. Noorehan Binti Yaacob (PSC163057) and Ms. Nur Azura Noor Azhuan (PSC173015) have been selected for a visit to Osaka University, Toyonaka Campus for an international research visit program. This invitation is for five days starting from 20 January 2020 until 24 January 2020.

The program was initiated by Takashi Suzuki Sensei, who is the Director of the Center for Modeling and Data Science (MMDS), Osaka University, Toyonaka Campus. The objective of this visit was to gain more knowledge about the research that both of the students are now conducting at UTM.

The students had the opportunity to observe and experience the students’ culture at Osaka University throughout their 5-day visit. In addition to meeting Suzuki Sensei, the students had the chance to learn more about their study with Prof. Clair Poignard from  University of Bordeaux, France who happened to be at Osaka University. This eventually expands the network of research that the students are doing now as well as fulfilling the mission of bringing UTM globally.

Besides gaining knowledge with Prof. Clair, the students also had the opportunity to attend his mathematical modeling workshop.  The objective of the workshop was  to introduce a new study that conducted by Prof. Clair with his team. The students also got a chance to meet some of the lecturers and postgraduate students from Osaka University.

Overall, both of them have gained a lot of study experiences at Osaka University. Therefore, such an invitation is one of the good initiatives for  research relationship between UTM and Osaka University. Thank you UTM!
