JOHOR BAHRU 1 December 2016 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has maintained its position in the top 100 universities in the BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2017, despite a facing a challenging year.

UTM’s citation score remains the highest in Malaysia, though competing with a surge in publication and citations from universities in Russia, China, Taiwan, India and South Africa.

Overall, UTM is currently no. 3 in Malaysia, no. 5 in ASEAN, and no. 50 in Asia.
Despite these challenging times, UTM’s fundamentals continue to be strong, and we will continue to depend on continuous support from all sections within the university, especially our researchers and academic staff.
