Melbourne, Australia, 1 March 2016 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will be collaborating with Deakin University, Australia to promote exchange and cooperation in education, research and social services.
Among the collaboration scope includes:
(a) Activities of student exchange, including study tour, course attendance and joint research.
(b) Activities of exchange of academics, including study tour, conducting research and/or joint supervision student projects.
(c) Joint Research and Development (R&D) subject to approval of both parties.
This understanding duration is planned for five years, and may be extended in accordance to the agreement by both parties.
The collaboration will foster and strengthen the relationship between Deakin and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
The MoU was signed by the UTM Vice-Chancellor, Y.Bhg. Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Bin Omar as the representative of UTM, and Deakin Vice-Chancellor Prof Jane den Hollander as the representative of Deakin in Melbourne, Australia. The signing ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Ismail Abd Aziz, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni); Prof. Dr. Nordin Yahaya, Senior Director, UTM International; Prof. Dr. Shamsul Sahibuddin, Dean, UTM Advanced Informatics School; Prof. Dr. Azizah Abd Manaf, Deputy Dean, UTM Advanced Informatics School; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Chew Tin, Director (Global Education), UTM International.
