KUALA LUMPUR, 22nd February 2013: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Duta Klasik Sdn. Bhd have established a mutual oil and gas related partnership to assist the University and the nation towards greener and sustainable environment.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dato’ Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang said, Duta Klasik has expanded its operation to managing projects related to electrical and instrumentation for various clients in the upstream and downstream of the oil and gas market.
The founder, Dato’ Rosdin Dato’ Mohd Yusup said the company found a huge opportunity to help its clients and community to solve significant problems faced by many of them in the upstream sectors.
The solution would enable the clients to run their operations faster, easier, and safer than ever before.
Duta Klasik has started innovation of their own equipment called ‘Positive Pressure Welding Enclosure’ (PPWE) which is also popularly known as the “Habitat”. It is a place free from any hazardous gases inside an enclosure for the hot work activities to be done.
It is also equipped with a complete control system to regulate all its related accessories for a safe operation. This partnership will trigger new research discoveries and embark on highly improved equipment for the oil & gas industry.
UTM and Duta Klasik are also in discussions to collaborate further research on drilling mud cooling equipment, liquid filtration equipment, tubular thread protectors, petrol and diesel fuel performance additives, natural gas conditioning system and engineering services, carbon dioxide (CO2) removal system, nitrogen (N2) rejection system, mercury (Hg) filtration system, cargo baskets and containers, offshore drilling contract services, safety valve actuators, and wellhead products in the pipeline using UTM experts and Duta’s operation team.
Duta Klasik Sdn Bhd is a local bumiputra company currently serving the oil and gas related industry in Malaysia and abroad. The company was founded by a bumiputra entrepreneur, Dato’ Rosdin Mohd Yusup, who has vast experience in the oil and gas service industry in Malaysia.
