Dr. Norafneeza Norazahar, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering and Deputy Director of the Office of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (OSHE), was invited to the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) and the 10th International Conference on Energy, Resources, Environment, and Sustainable Development (ERESD 2024) from May 29 to June 1, 2024. The CUMT (Nanhu campus) is located at No. 1, Daxue Road, Xuzhou City.
The School of Safety Engineering at CUMT played a pivotal role in organizing and generously sponsoring Dr. Norafneeza’s visit, covering the round-trip flight, accommodation, and other business-related transport and meals.
As an invited speaker, Dr. Norafneeza’s academic activities were both diverse and impactful. On May 31, 2024, she delivered a lecture to postgraduate students of the School of Safety Engineering titled “Process Safety and Hazard Analysis in Chemical Engineering” in the School of Safety Engineering building.
Additionally, she presented a paper entitled “Accidents and Consequence Modelling for Stationary and Mobile Hydrogen Storage” during the oral presentation session at ERESD 2024 on May 31, 2024.
All international speakers, including Dr. Norafneeza, were invited to join a tour of the Pan’an Lake Wetland Park on June 1, 2024. They visited the Observation and Research Station of Jiangsu Jiawan Resource Exhausted Mining Area Land Restoration and Ecological Succession by the Ministry of Education.
This invitation marks the beginning of networking between the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering (FKT) and the School of Safety Engineering at CUMT in the area of process safety. It also signifies the start of a collaborative relationship between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the China University of Mining and Technology, China.
