JOHOR BAHRU, 21 August –The Faculty of Computing at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) organized the Faculty of Computing Research and Innovation (FCRI) Day 2023 to enhance the spirit of innovation among faculty researchers and innovators.
The launching ceremony of FCRI 2023 was presided over by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Rosli Md. Illias, at Block N24A, Faculty of Computing, UTM Johor Bahru campus.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohamad, the Program Director of FCRI 2023, stated that this event embodies the collective pursuit of knowledge and innovation, showcasing the faculty’s spirit of intellect, creativity, and collaboration.
“The FCRI features enlightening discussions, unveiling the brilliance of our research and hinting at future achievements. It fosters a passion for computing exploration, igniting curiosity, and unity around novel ideas, contributing to the ongoing digital revolution.”
“This program also has several objectives, such as showcasing innovation, promoting collaboration, and inspiring future exploration,” said Dr. Murtadha, who was approached after the launching ceremony of FCRI Day 2023 at the Faculty of Computing.
The showcasing of innovation includes highlighting groundbreaking research projects from the faculty and demonstrating the innovative solutions and technologies that advance the field.
“The FCRI also aims to promote collaboration, fostering a platform for interdisciplinary interaction and knowledge exchange among faculty members, students, and industry professionals to encourage collaborative research efforts.”
“We are also inspiring future exploration by igniting curiosity and passion for computing, presenting transformative ideas, and motivating attendees to explore new avenues in research and contribute to the digital revolution,” said Dr. Murtadha.
Also attending the ceremony were Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Mohd Nasir Wan Kadir, the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Zaiton Mohd Hashim, the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation, and Development).
Among the events incorporated in this four-day program were workshops, conferences, an industrial showcase, and the Postgraduate Annual Research Seminar (PARS).
