UTM Leads ATU-Net’s Engaging Role in Digital Universities Asia 2023, Reinforcing Innovation in Education

Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net), led by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as the Chair and Secretariat, proudly served as an event partner for the historic Digital Universities Asia 2023 (DU Asia 2023), organized by the esteemed Times Higher Education. This groundbreaking conference took place from 8th to 10th May 2023 at the prestigious Hilton Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

DU Asia 2023 centered around the theme “Smart Innovation for Lifelong Education,” attracting higher education leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and innovative minds from across the region. The program featured a dynamic agenda, including a Keynote Session, engaging workshops, enlightening panel discussions, stimulating roundtables, and invaluable networking opportunities.

ATU-Net, alongside 19 other esteemed partners, had the privilege of showcasing its contributions through a booth exhibition spanning the three-day event. This incredible platform not only bolstered the visibility of ATU-Net but also facilitated networking and engagement sessions that fostered meaningful connections and collaborations.

The conference was marked by thought-provoking discussions, delving into pressing issues surrounding the digitalization of education. ATU-Net proudly nominated five distinguished speakers from its member institutions to share their expertise on designated sub-themes: (i) Enabling Student Success in the Digital Era, (ii) Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Transformations, and (iii) The Hybrid Campus of Tomorrow. The esteemed speakers included Prof. Dr. Saidin Wahab from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Akito Takasaki from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Dr. Dadan Rahadian from Telkom University, Dr. Mai Xuan Trang from Phenikaa University, and Dr. Azli Nawawi, also from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.

This collaboration with distinguished partners like Times Higher Education represents a significant milestone for ATU-Net, enhancing its brand recognition and offering member institutions unprecedented opportunities to elevate their visibility on a global scale.

Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) serves as a strategic international alliance, with UTM assuming the roles of Chair, Secretariat, and Network Host. Established on 9th August 2016 during the 8th UTM University Presidents Forum held at UTM Johor Bahru Campus, ATU-Net connects technology-focused higher learning institutions across Asia.

The network’s overarching mission is to support member universities in achieving world-class standards of education and research in engineering and technology through strategic international alliances.
