Sangaku-Renkei (Industry-University Cooperation):
Throughout the years of pioneering Japanese-style engineering education in Malaysia, MJIIT has made various collaborations with selected industries. The integration between both parties are integral for the betterment of the research society which in turn offers positive impact to the nation’s growth. One of the Sangaku-Renkei (Industry-University linkages) that MJIIT has secured is with Leave A Nest Sdn. Bhd, the second international office outside Japan for Leave A Nest Co., Ltd.
Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. started as a science venture company in June 2002 by 15 science graduate students. To resolve science graduate employment problems and the decline in interests for science among the younger generation, they developed an in house training program for university students and conducted workshops in schools. Today, they have conducted more than 150 workshops per year throughout Japan. Early this year, Leave A Nest Sdn. Bhd. made historical announcement to appoint Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi, a proud MJIIT alumnus as its youngest director.
The cooperation between MJIIT and Leave A Nest resulted with the establishment of Nest-Bio Venture lab on 21st January 2019. The establishment was supported by MEMO-Bio (Metabolic Engineering & Molecular Biology) i-Kohza. The Nest-Bio Venture Lab will have a biotechnology startup incubator as well as access to high technology machines such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), as well as the services of experts from MJIIT.
On 19 June 2019, MJIIT visited Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. Japan and was honored to gain the continued trust and recognition to contribute to the building of high-technology start-ups while bridging the ties of both nations.
おめでとうございます Omedetō gozaimasu…Congratulations MJIIT & Leave a Nest Co. Ltd!
