Kuala Lumpur, 12 July 2018 – UTM Kuala Lumpur received a courtesy visit from Prof Dr. Brad Barret with his (4) midshipmen from United States Naval Academy (USNA). In conjunction for their Language, Regional Expertise and study tour in Malaysia, they took the opportunity to visit UTM Kuala Lumpur. Delegates were accompanied by Ms. Fiona Teo from U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

In the meeting, USNA was brought to COEI headed by Dr. Zulkifli Ismail as Director, Prof. Ahmad Khairi Abd Wahab and PM Ir. Dr. Mohd Fadhil Md Din and OTEC were represented by Dr. Sathiabama Thirugnana and Dr. Rahayu Tasnim.

They shared information on consultancy projects that they are heading, the research facilities available, latest development on coastal engineering, marine sustainability in Malaysia and opportunity for students to do internship related to oceanography.

UTM Kuala Lumpur hoped that the meeting will be the starting point for future cooperation.
