CHICAGO, 3 October 2014 – The Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate student, Mohamad Hafizi Abu Bakar was selected as a Runner Up Winner for a Special Award (PhD Candidate) at System Approach to Metabolic Disease Symposium held in Illinois, Chicago recently.
Held at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Hotel, this three days Symposium which begun on 1 October 2014 provides a unique opportunity to bring together experts in systems biology and metabolism to discuss how approaches can be exploited in an effort to understand the perturbations that take place in the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases.
This symposium has also provided novel approaches for studying metabolic alterations in a high-throughput scale and explores how epigenomics, non-coding RNAs, and environmental factors control metabolic pathways in disease settings.
This event was organized by Cell Press, a leading publisher of cutting-edge biomedical research and reviews with aim to engage the scientific community by communicating important, exciting discoveries made today that will impact the future of research.
