YOKJAKARTA – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is strengthening its partnership with Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) as two distinguished lecturers from UTM’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) take part in the UII Capstone Project Expo 2024 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The collaboration between the two universities has grown since they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022 and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in 2023. This partnership actively supports the exchange of staff and students throughout the academic year.
Every year, final-year students at UII showcase the results of their Capstone Projects at the Capstone Project Expo. Students create and develop innovative projects through this program as part of their final semester curriculum. Once the projects are completed, peers, family members, and lecturers are invited to the expo, where the students present their work to expert judges. The event provides an opportunity for the audience to celebrate the students’ accomplishments. The expo serves as a valuable platform for students to gain exposure, receive constructive feedback, and prepare for their future careers.
The attendance of Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood and Dr. Mohd Azhar Abdul Razak highlight UTM’s commitment to enhancing academic initiatives at UII and strengthening educational relations. Their presence allows UII students to engage with UTM professionals while reaffirming the shared values of academic excellence and mutual support between the institutions.
The judging session highlighted that UTM and UII have been actively engaged in joint programs, including staff and student exchange initiatives. This collaboration has allowed both campuses to benefit from an international academic environment that fosters creativity and diverse perspectives. The partnership between the two universities exemplifies the value of global cooperation in developing the next generation of engineers.
