ISKANDAR PUTERI, Oct 13 – The Good Earth Exhibition 2024, organized by Tanah Sutera Development Sdn. Bhd., Sutera Mall, and Sutera Good Earth, was held from 4th to 13th October 2024. This event was supported by prominent organizations, including the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), SWM Environment Sdn. Bhd., the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ), and JCI Johor Bahru, with the aim of promoting health and sustainability in the community.
The exhibition featured a series of insightful talks and workshops aimed at educating the community on the significant impact that small changes in diet, lifestyle, and agricultural practices can have on both personal health and the environment.
Among the highlights of the event were sharing sessions by four senior lecturers from UTM, each contributing unique expertise related to sustainability.
Ts. ChM. Dr. Faizuan Abdullah, from the Faculty of Science, shared insights on his innovative Oil2Wang project, which focuses on sustainable practices in oil consumption.
Dr. Nur’ain Balqis Haladin, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), introduced her storybook titled Adam’s Seagrass Adventure! to shed light on the often-overlooked values of seagrass ecosystems.
Dr. Nina Diana Nawi, also from FSSH, discussed the concerning issue of plastics in our food chain and their implications for health and sustainability.
Dr. Huszalina Hussin, from the Faculty of Science, presented her research on enhancing the quality of organic compost, emphasizing its benefits for sustainable gardening.
The Good Earth Exhibition 2024 attracted a diverse audience, including families, students, and environmental enthusiasts, all eager to learn how to make meaningful contributions toward a healthier planet. With its engaging content and expert speakers, the exhibition promises to be an inspiring event for all who attend. Let’s actively address social and environmental issues, promoting a proactive approach to foster positive change in the world.
